We opened The Custard Stand, LLC , as a take-out dairy bar in 1991 in Webster Springs, WV where we serve Custard Stand Hot Dog Chili. This small rural community has helped us to develop a large following of customers.
We began manufacturing CSHDC through our second business, Custard Stand Food Products, LLC, for the retail market in June 2003. The sales have grown tremendously in the last few years and how you can find CSHDC in grocery stores, convenience stores, warehouse clubs, restaurants, booster groups, and health facilities in more than 13 states!
Our second restaurant, The Custard Stand-Flatwoods, LLC, opened in March 2009 at Exit 67 off I-79 in Flatwoods, WV.
These family-owned and -operated West Virginia businesses proudly promote old-fashioned values of homemade taste, quality, consistency and service.
Our History
Custard Stand Food Products is first and foremost a family-operated business that began as a take out dairy bar and has expanded to a USDA-approved meat processing facility. We got our chili recipe from our Great Aunt Lucile. Lucile managed the famous Elsie’s Dairy Bar, nicknamed “The Custard Stand” for years in downtown Webster Springs. Aunt Lucile cooked the chili there beginning in the early 1960′s.
